Tennessee law allows some voters to vote by absentee ballot instead of showing up in person. Qualifying voters include:
- any voter over age 60;
- any voter who cannot vote in person due to illness, physical disability, or hospitalization;
- any caretaker of a voter who is ill, physically disabled, or hospitalized;
- a full-time student – or spouse of a full-time student – at an institution outside Davidson County;
- a member of the military or a spouse or dependent of a member of the military;
- and others.
